Duke puts win streak on line against Maryland
Feb 13, 2008 - 1:38 PM Maryland (16-8) at No. 2 Duke (21-1) 7:00 pm ESTDURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) - Duke will take an 11-game winning streak into Wednesday's game with Maryland.
The second-ranked Blue Devils (21-1, 9-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) have an average victory margin of 14.5 points during the streak, which includes an 11-point win at No. 5 North Carolina.
Senior guard DeMarcus Nelson is averaging 15.5 points for Duke, which is 12-0 at home this season.
The Blue Devils won on the road against the Terrapins (16-8, 6-3) on January 27, but Maryland has won five of the last eight meetings.
Sophomore guard Greivis Vasquez is averaging 16.9 points and 6.7 assists for Maryland, which has won four straight. Vasquez tied a school record with 15 assists in Sunday's 84-70 victory over North Carolina State.
The Terrapins have posted at least one victory over the Blue Devils in six of the past eight seasons.
