Tennessee looks to extend home win streak
Feb 13, 2008 - 1:55 PM Arkansas (17-5) at No. 4 Tennessee (21-2) 8:00 pm ESTKNOXVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - Tennessee will look to extend its home winning streak to 29 games on Wednesday, facing Arkansas in a Southeastern Conference game.
The East Division-leading Volunteers (21-2, 8-1 SEC) have won five consecutive games, but had to hold on for a 47-45 win on Saturday at Louisiana State. Fourth-ranked Tennessee is averaging 83.7 points per game this season.
The Razorbacks (17-5, 6-2) are on a four-game winning streak and trail only Mississippi State in the SEC West.
Arkansas has had success here before, snapping the Volunteers' 15-game home winning streak in 2006.
"We need to play our best game of the year," Arkansas coach John Pelphrey said. "The environment will be a factor in the game, but the game will be decided by the five guys we have on the court and the five they have."
Senior swingman Sonny Weems is averaging a team-high 14.9 points on the season for Arkansas, but is averaging 20.5 points per game in his last four games.
