Undefeated Memphis looks for sweep of Houston

Feb 13, 2008 - 2:08 PM Houston (18-4) at No. 1 Memphis (23-0) 9:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) - Top-ranked Memphis puts its 46-game home winning streak on the line Wednesday against Houston in a matchup of the top two teams in Conference USA.

The Tigers (23-0, 9-0 C-USA) remained the nation's only unbeaten Division I team with a 85-64 home win over Central Florida on Saturday.

Memphis is making a case to become the first team to finish the regular season unbeaten since the 1990-91 Nevada-Las Vegas squad, which was beaten by Duke in the Final Four.

"If we were to lose, I'd be shocked" said Tigers guard Chris Douglas-Roberts, who leads the team with 16.7 points per game.

Senior guard Robert McKiver leads the Cougars (18-4, 7-1) at 22.1 points per game. Houston has won three straight since an 89-77 home loss to the Tigers on January 30.

Memphis has won the last six meetings in the series and holds a 19-10 all-time advantage.
