Washington State looks to keep Oregon State winless in Pac-10

Feb 14, 2008 - 11:49 AM Washington St (18-5) at Oregon St (6-17) 8:30 pm

CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- No. 20 Washington State has been sliding of late, losing five of its last nine games.

A game with the last-place team in the Pac-10 Conference on Thursday might be just what the Cougars need.

Washington State (18-5, 6-5 Pac-10) hopes to again enjoy success against Oregon State (6-17, 0-11). The Beavers have lost 13 consecutive games, last winning on December 19 at home against Northern Colorado.

When the teams met earlier this season, the Cougars posted a 69-46 victory at home. Washington State has won the last three games in the series.

The Cougars snapped a three-game losing streak Saturday with a 74-50 victory over Southern California. Senior guard Kyle Weaver went 8-for-8 from the field and went over the 1,000-point mark for his career.

Senior guard Derrick Low leads Washington State at 13.4 points per game. Sophomore swingman Seth Tarver averages 11.5 points for Oregon State.
