Notre Dame looks to bounce back vs. Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- No. 18 Notre Dame looks to get back on track Sunday when it visits Rutgers in a Big East Conference matchup.

Notre Dame (18-5, 8-3 Big East) had a five-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday, suffering an 84-78 loss to No. 17 Connecticut. Luke Harangody scored 32 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the way for the Fighting Irish.

Harangody is averaging a team-high 20.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game for Notre Dame, which currently is tied for third place in the Big East.

The Irish's 8-3 start in conference play is the second-best in school history. In 2000-01, the club started 9-2.

Meanwhile, Rutgers (10-16, 2-11) finds itself in last place in the Big East and is mired in a five-game losing streak.

After being edged by Cincinnati in overtime on February 9, the Scarlet Knights suffered a dismal 81-63 setback to West Virginia.

J.R. Inman scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds against West Virginia. Inman is Rutgers' leading scorer, averaging 12.9 points and 7.4 rebounds this season.
