Boilermakers add size, Indy's top player on signing day
Nov 8, 2017 - 6:46 PM WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue added two more post players and Indianapolis' top player in Wednesday's signing class. The biggest name might be 6-foot-3 guard Eric Hunter Jr. He averaged 25.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists while leading Tindley Prep to its first state title last season. He is the IndyStar's Preseason City Player of the Year. But coach Matt Painter also added some big bodies with 6-11, 225-pound center Emmanuel Dowuona from Miami and 6-9, 270-pound forward Trevion Williams. Dowuona averaged about 13 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks last season at Westwood Christian. The Ghana native has only played basketball for about four years after giving up soccer. Williams averaged 22 points and 25 rebounds at Henry Ford Academy in Detroit last season. ___ More college basketball: http://collegebasketball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP_Top25No one has shouted yet.
