Washington State seeks fourth straight win

Feb 21, 2008 - 2:52 PM Arizona St (16-8) at No. 19 Washington St (20-5) 9:00 pm EST

PULLMAN, Washington (Ticker) - After a successful two-game road trip, Washington State attempts to win its fourth straight game when it hosts Arizona State in Pac-10 Conference action Thursday.

The 19th-ranked Cougars (20-5, 8-5 Pac-10) swept through Oregon State and Oregon, respectively, and have also defeated Arizona State, 56-55, in the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season.

The road trip came on the heels of a disappointing 1-3 homestand, when Washington State dropped its first three home games of the season before salvaging one contest against USC on February 9.

Taylor Rochestie had his second straight 20-point game in the 62-53 victory over Oregon on Saturday, scoring 21 points, while senior Derrick Low added 16. Low leads the team in scoring at 13.8 points per contest.

The Sun Devils (16-8, 6-6) had won two straight games before losing to California, 76-73, at home on Saturday.

Freshman Ty Abbott had a season-high 30 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the arc in Saturday's loss and freshman James Harden added 11 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Harden leads the team in scoring at 18.0 points per game.

Arizona State is 2-4 in true road games this season.
