No. 17 Michigan State seeks to avenge loss to Iowa
Feb 23, 2008 - 12:45 PM Iowa (12-15) at No. 17 Michigan St (21-5) 2:00 pm ESTEAST LANSING, Michigan (Ticker) -- Raymar Morgan and Michigan State can improve their position in the Big Ten Conference standings by exacting some revenge against Iowa.
The 17th-ranked Spartans face another must-win situation Saturday when they host the Hawkeyes in a Big Ten clash.
The Spartans (21-5, 9-4 Big Ten) sit alone in fourth place in the conference standings, two games behind Wisconsin, Purdue and Indiana in the loss column.
Michigan State lost on the road to the Hawkeyes, 43-36, on January 12. Iowa has won four of the last five meetings but has lost 12 straight on the road to the Spartans.
Michigan State, 2-3 in its last five games, snapped a two-game skid Wednesday with a 86-49 home rout of Penn State.
Morgan scored 16 points to pace the Spartans, who improved to 15-0 at home - including 7-0 in Big Ten play.
Iowa snapped a three-game skid Tuesday with a 53-51 victory over Northwestern.
Cyrus Tate scored 18 points for the Hawkeyes, who erased a 14-point second-half deficit to win for just the sixth time in their last 17 games.
