Notre Dame puts home winning streak on line vs. Syracuse

Feb 24, 2008 - 3:26 PM Syracuse (17-10) at No. 21 Notre Dame (20-5) 2:00 pm EST

SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Ticker) -- Luke Harangody and No. 21 Notre Dame try to keep a pair of home winning streaks alive Sunday when they host Big East Conference foe Syracuse.

Notre Dame (20-5, 10-3 Big East) has won 35 consecutive home games, including 16 straight against Big East opponents.

Harangody had 23 points and 12 rebounds Thursday as the Fighting Irish continued their success at the Joyce Center with an 82-70 victory over Pittsburgh.

A sophomore, Harangody is making a strong case for Big East Player of the Year honors with 15 double-doubles in his last 21 games - registering 10 in 13 conference games this season.

Syracuse (17-10, 7-7) faces its third consecutive ranked team on Sunday. After posting a seven-point victory over No. 8 Georgetown, the Orange suffered a 61-50 setback to No. 23 Louisville on Monday.

Paul Harris scored 13 points against Louisville, his seventh straight game in double-figures. The sophomore likely is excited to face Notre Dame after averaging 21 points and 14 rebounds during the teams' two meetings last season.
