Wisconsin hopes to remain atop Big Ten

Feb 24, 2008 - 4:37 PM No. 10 Wisconsin (22-4) at Ohio State (17-9) 4:00 pm EST

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Wisconsin will have to win in enemy territory to stay atop the Big Ten Conference standings.

The 10th-ranked Badgers aim for their fourth straight win Sunday when they visit Ohio State in a Big Ten matchup.

The Badgers (22-4, 12-2 Big Ten) are currently in a three-way tie for first place with Purdue (12-2) and Indiana (12-2) but can move into sole possession with a win, as the other two schools are idle Sunday.

Wisconsin is coming off Wednesday's 71-57 victory over Illinois, and the Badgers are allowing just 55.4 points per game. Trevon Hughes leads the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game, and the sophomore netted 18 in Wednesday's win.

The Buckeyes (17-9, 8-5) are looking for a marquee name to put on their tournament resume and are currently sitting in fifth place in the conference.

Ohio State has gone just 2-3 in the month of February and hasn't played since a disappointing 80-70 defeat to Michigan on February 17.

Freshman Kosta Koufos had his second straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while fellow freshman Evan Turner had 16 and 11 in the loss to the Wolverines.

Ohio State won two out of the three meetings last season, including a 49-48 victory here - when the Buckeyes were ranked No. 1 and Wisconsin was ranked No. 2 on February 25.
