Wake Forest goes for second straight upset win

Feb 24, 2008 - 6:59 PM Wake Forest (16-8) at No. 3 North Carolina (25-2) 6:30 pm EST

CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Wake Forest looks to make it two straight upsets against a top-five opponent when No. 3 North Carolina comes calling Sunday in an Atlantic Coast Conference clash.

Freshman Jeff Teague scored 26 points and James Johnson had 24 and career-high 16 rebounds last Sunday as the Demon Deacons (16-8, 6-5 ACC) stunned then-No. 2 Duke, 86-73.

"I thought us getting out to a good start was big," Wake Forest coach Dino Gaudio said. "Jeff Teague, who is a really courageous young guy, he got us off to a terrific start. He let us know that we can play with these guys."

While the 6-2 Teague was stellar in his last outing against a big-time opponent, he has endured his struggles away from Joel-Lawrence Coliseum. Teague is averaging under 10 points on the road, where Wake Forest is just 2-7.

Standout Tyler Hansbrough dominated the paint with 32 points, 12 rebounds and five steals in North Carolina's 84-70 victory over North Carolina State on Wednesday.

Wake Forest dropped both meetings to North Carolina (25-2, 10-2) last season after winning three consecutive trips to the Dean Smith Center.
