No. 23 Saint Mary's looks to avenge loss to San Diego

MORAGA, California (Ticker) -- No. 23 Saint Mary's looks to avenge a loss to San Diego on Monday when the teams face off in a West Coast Conference game.

The Toreros (16-12, 9-2 WCC) trail the Gaels (23-4, 10-1) and Gonzaga by a game in the conference standings. All three teams have three conference games left.

Saint Mary's is coming off a 65-57 loss to Kent State in a non-conference game on Saturday that snapped the Gaels' six-game winning streak.

Freshman guard Patrick Mills averages 14.8 points and 3.5 assists for Saint Mary's. Junior forward Diamon Simpson averages 12.7 points and 9.5 rebounds for the Gaels, who are 14-1 overall at home and 6-0 in conference games.

San Diego rebounded from last Monday's 59-55 home loss to the Bulldogs with a 66-62 win at Santa Clara on Saturday. The Toreros are 8-1 in their last nine games.
