Dyson returns as Connecticut looks to begin new win streak

Feb 26, 2008 - 2:44 PM No. 16 Connecticut (21-6) at Rutgers (10-18) 7:30 pm EST

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) - Jerome Dyson makes his return Tuesday when No. 16 Connecticut visits Rutgers in Big East Conference action.

The 16th-ranked Huskies (21-6, 10-4 Big East) had their 10-game winning streak snapped on Saturday, losing to Villanova by a 67-65 count.

Dyson was suspended for 30 days after a second failed drug test stemming from a January 24th on-campus incident. The sophomore, who has missed nine games while serving the penalty, is averaging 14.3 points and had started in all 18 games he played in.

"We'll see where he fits in," Huskies coach Jim Calhoun told the Hartford Courant when asked about Dyson's playing time. "There's no reason I won't start the same team at Rutgers. But we'll see how he gets into the mix. I don't know when and if he'll play. We'll give him a look in practice."

A.J. Price leads the Huskies in scoring at 15.0 points per game, and scored 16 in Saturday's loss to the Wildcats.

The Scarlet Knights have been struggling and are mired in a seven-game losing streak.

Rutgers (10-18, 2-13) is coming off a 78-48 defeat to Marquette on Saturday, dropping the Scarlet Knights into last place in the conference.

J.R. Inman leads Rutgers in scoring at 12.9 points per game.
