Kansas aims to bounce back against Iowa State
Feb 27, 2008 - 11:41 AM No. 7 Kansas (24-3) at Iowa St (14-13) 7:00 pm ESTAMES, Iowa (Ticker) -- No. 7 Kansas hasn't had to bounce back from many losses this season.
However, that is exactly what Kansas is trying to do when it visits Iowa State on Wednesday in a Big 12 Conference matchup.
The Jayhawks (24-3, 9-3) suffered a disappointing 61-60 setback to Oklahoma State on Saturday, falling to 6-3 on the road this season. Kansas struggled against the Cowboys' defense, which limited the Jayhawks to 2-of-11 shooting on 3-pointers while forcing 21 turnovers.
"I thought they played good defense and better offense than us," Kansas coach Bill Self said. "But we stunk, and you can credit that to OSU and a large part of that to the crowd. We didn't play with much poise."
Iowa State (14-13, 4-8) is 10-4 at home this season but enters Wednesday's contest following a 76-64 loss to Texas Tech on Saturday.
Jiri Hubalek scored 17 points and tied a season high with 15 rebounds to lead the Cyclones. Hubalek, a senior from the Czech Republic, is averaging a team-high 13.2 points and 7.4 rebounds this season.
