Outright Atlantic 10 title awaits No. 11 Xavier

CINCINNATI (Ticker) - An outright Atlantic 10 championship will belong to No. 11 Xavier if the Muskeeters can defeat George Washington on Saturday.

The Muskeeters (24-4, 12-1) have a three-game lead with three games to play. Xavier has already clinched at least a share of its second consecutive A-10 crown.

The Muskeeters have won 10 consecutive games. Xavier is 6-0 in home conference games and 14-1 overall, losing only to Tennessee.

Senior forward Josh Duncan averages 11.6 points for the Muskeeters. Senior guard Drew Lavender averages 11.2 points, sophomore forward Derrick Brown and junior swingman B.J. Raymond each average 10.8 points and junior forward C.J. Anderson averages 10.5 points for Xavier.

The Muskeeters have a 21-9 all-time lead in the series with the Colonials (9-14, 5-8) and have won 11 of the last 13 meetings.

George Washington has won three straight games and four of its last five. The Colonials have struggled away from home, posting a 1-5 conference mark and a 1-10 overall road record.

Junior forward Rob Diggs is averaging 13.9 points and 7.7 rebounds for George Washington.
