Top 25 roundup: No. 5 Arizona State imrpoves to 10-0

Dec 18, 2017 - 12:35 AM TEMPE, Ariz. -- Guard Tra Holder scored 25 points to complement his team's stifling defensive presence, and No. 5 Arizona State made history in a 76-64 victory over Vanderbilt on Sunday.

The Sun Devils are 10-0 for the first time in school history.

Guard Shannon Evans scored 15 points, forward Romello White had 12 points and nine rebounds and reserve forward Mickey Mitchell had eight points and a career-high 13 rebounds as the Sun Devils used a big burst after Vanderbilt scored the first 13 points of the game.

The Sun Devils, one of four undefeated teams in NCAA Division I, held Vanderbilt (3-7) to 34.3 percent shooting from the floor. Saben Lee topped the Commodores with 24 points.



No. 7 North Carolina 78, No. 20 Tennessee 73

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Kenny Williams hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with less than a minute to play, and the Tar Heels came from behind to nip the Volunteers.

Joel Berry II scored 21 points, and Williams finished with 15 for the Tar Heels (10-1), who have won five straight games since losing to then-No. 4 Michigan State on Nov. 27.

Tennessee (7-2), which led for the majority of the game, went cold down the stretch and had its four-game winning streak snapped.



No. 21 Baylor 118, Savannah State 86

WACO, Texas -- The Bears used their inside-outside game to great effectiveness in fighting off Savannah State.

Forward Jo Lual-Acuil posted a hefty double-double with 31 points and 20 rebounds, and guard Manu Lecomte hit seven 3-pointers on his way to 25 points for Baylor (9-2).

Baylor scored 54 points in the paint and outrebounded the Tigers 58-26. Dexter McClanahan topped Savannah State (3-10) with 22 points, and Austin Dasent scored 18 points.
