Villanova G Gillespie sidelined with fractured bone in hand
Dec 19, 2017 - 4:59 PM Villanova freshman guard Collin Gillespie is dealing with a fractured bone in his left hand and is sidelined indefinitely, the team announced Tuesday.Gillespie sustained the injury during practice prior to the Wildcats' 77-68 win over La Salle on Dec. 10.
"We're really disappointed for Collin," Villanova coach Jay Wright said. "He was playing great for us. We miss him on this team. We're still struggling to replace him. But I know with his positive attitude and work ethic he'll get back on the court as soon as he can.
"We'll continue to evaluate Collin's situation as we move ahead."
Gillespie is averaging 4.4 points and 13.2 minutes in nine games this season for the top-ranked Wildcats (11-0).
