Marquette aims to rebound against Florida Gulf Coast

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - No. 20 Marquette looks to begin a new winning streak when they host Florida Gulf Coast in a non-conference matchup Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles had their five-game winning streak snapped in a 70-68 overtime defeat to Georgetown on Saturday. Jonathan Wallace made three free throws with two seconds to play for the Hoyas, sending the game into the extra period.

Wesley Matthews scored 22 points and Jerel McNeal added 17 and eight rebounds for Marquette, which shot just 34 percent (21-of-62) from the field in the loss.

Dominic James, who leads the team in scoring at 13.6 points per game, had 15 against the Hoyas.

Florida Gulf Coast wrapped up its Atlantic Sun Conference schedule with a 74-71 overtime win over North Florida on Saturday.

Senior Casey Wohlleb scored 29 points in the victory. He leads the team with an average of 17.0 points per game.

It is the final regular-season game of the season for the Eagles, who finished tied for eighth in the Atlantic Sun in their first full campaign as a Division I team.
