Mountain West title in sight for No. 24 BYU

PROVO, Utah (Ticker) -- The march toward the Mountain West Conference regular-season title continues Wednesday for No. 24 Brigham Young.

The first-place Cougars (23-6, 12-2) play their final home game of the season against Wyoming (12-16, 5-10). BYU has won 11 of its last 12 games overall and 46 consecutive games at home.

The Cougars have won two straight, including Saturday's 76-57 victory over Air Force. BYU has won six consecutive games in the series and 12 of the last 13 meetings, including a 73-63 road win over the Cowboys on February 2.

Junior center-forward Trent Plaisted leads the Cougars at 15.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Junior guard Lee Cummard and sophomore forward Jonathan Tavernari also are in double figures at 15.9 and 13 points per game.

Wyoming has rebounded from a three-game losing streak to win two straight, including a 72-64 win over Utah in its final home game.

Junior guard Brandon Ewing averages 15.9 points and senior guard Brad Jones 12.4 for Wyoming.
