No. 19 Notre Dame visits South Florida in finale

Mar 8, 2008 - 2:23 PM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- No. 19 Notre Dame has its final tuneup before the Big East Conference tournament when it visits South Florida on Saturday.

The Fighting Irish (23-6, 13-4) already have clinched one of the four byes in the conference tournament. Meanwhile, the Bulls (12-18, 3-14) failed to qualify and are ahead of Rutgers in the 16-team conference standings.

Notre Dame has won 10 of its last 12 games and has already set a single-season record with 13 conference victories.

The Fighting Irish can match last year's win total with a victory over South Florida.

Sophomore forward Luke Harangody, the leading candidate for Player of the Year in the conference, paces the Fighting Irish at 21.0 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.

Last season, the the Fighting Irish endured a 69-63 loss here. South Florida is 7-7 at home, including a 2-6 conference record.
