NEW YORK (Ticker) - Coming off the most lopsided Big East Conference win ever, No. 15 Connecticut will take on West Virginia in the quarterfinals Thursday.

The Huskies posted a 96-51 triumph over Cincinnati on Sunday, setting the conference record for margin of victory.

Connecticut features a balanced attack that includes five players scoring in double figures.

Jeff Adrien leads the team at 14.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and A.J. Price is scoring 14.7 per contest. The Big East Defensive Player of the Year, 7-3 center Hasheem Thabeet, leads the conference in blocked shots at 4.6 per game and broke the single-season record previously held by Alonzo Mourning with 94 blocks this season.

Connecticut, which has lost three straight tournament games, won the only meeting with the Mountaineers this season.

West Virginia is coming off a 58-53 victory over Providence in the opening round on Wednesday.

Joe Alexander, who scored 32 in the loss to the Huskies on March 1, had 22 in the win over the Friars and is averaging 28.8 over his last four contests.

The winner will take on the winner of Villanova and Georgetown in the semifinal round on Friday.
