Wisconsin looks to continue run against Wisconsin-Green Bay

Nov 15, 2006 - 5:22 PM Wisc Green Bay (0-1) at No. 9 Wisconsin (1-0) 8:00 pm EST

MADISON, Wisconsin (Ticker) - So far, everything has gone right for Alando Tucker and Wisconsin against their intra-state rival.

The ninth-ranked Badgers look to improve to a perfect 13-0 against Wisconsin-Green Bay when the two schools continue their annual series Wednesday.

Wisconsin, which is 10-0 here in the series, had a strong start to the season Sunday with a 72-48 victory over Mercer. Kammron Taylor scored 22 points, including 18 in the first half.

The senior point guard made his first five shots in the game, including three 3-pointers.

The preseason Big Ten player of the Year, Tucker scored 21 points and reserve Joe Krabbenhoft added seven and 10 rebounds for the Badgers (1-0), whose only blemish was a poor effort on free throws, making only 44 percent (12-of-27).

Wisconsin-Green Bay (0-1) will be trying to rebound from a season-opening 74-57 loss at Oakland where it was doomed by a sluggish first half.

Committing 12 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes, the Phoenix saw themselves fall behind 18-2 at the start of the game and 41-23 at halftime.

Senior guard Ryan Evanochko scored 21 points, but was one of the main turnover culprits, finishing with five of Wisconsin-Green Bay's 16.

Coming off a 15-16 campaign last season, the Phoenix were predicted to place third in the Horizon Conference.
