No. 19 Connecticut looks to sweep Hispanic College Fund Classic

Nov 19, 2006 - 4:25 PM Ole Miss (4-0) at No. 19 Connecticut (3-0) 8:00 pm EST

HARTFORD, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Jeff Adrien is gradually filling the bill as one of Connecticut's primary weapons this season.

Adrien looks to open the campaign with his fourth consecutive double-double for the 19th-ranked Huskies, who try to complete a three-game sweep of the Hispanic College Fund Classic against Mississippi on Sunday.

A 6-7 sophomore, Adrien scored 17 points, including 9-of-10 free throws, and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Huskies in Saturday's 74-49 triumph over intrastate-rival Fairfield. He is averaging 15 points and 13 rebounds this season.

Hasheem Thabeet and A.J. Price scored 12 points each for Connecticut, which limited the winless-Stags to 19 percent shooting (5-of-26) from the floor and 16 points in the second half.

The Huskies may find undefeated Mississippi to be their stiffest challenge of the season. After opening with wins over Mississippi Valley State and Louisiana-Lafayette, the Rebels have defeated Fairfield and Central Arkansas in the tournament.

Clarence Sanders scored 17 points and Bam Doyne added 15 for Ole Miss in Saturday's 75-61 victory over Central Arkansas.
