Kentucky tries to continue success in Maui Invitational
Nov 20, 2006 - 3:55 PM Depaul (1-2) at No. 22 Kentucky (2-0) 9:00 pm ESTMAUI, Hawaii (Ticker) - Kentucky has a solid history in Hawaii. The Wildcats will try to add to that when they face the Depaul Blue Demons in the opening round of Maui Invitational on Monday.
No. 22 Kentucky owns a 7-2 record here in three previous trips and captured the title in the 1993. The Wildcats have not been in the tournament since 2002 when they earned a 2-1 mark.
Prior to its fourth visit, Kentucky posted a 79-56 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Friday. Ramel Bradley scored 21 points and Randolph Morris added 18 and nine rebounds for the Wildcats, who owned a 41-18 cushion at the half.
After back-to-back losses, Depaul earned its first win of the season with a 71-41 triumph over Eastern Illinois on Friday. Karron Clarke had 12 points and four steals and Wilson Chandler added 11 for the Blue Demons, who held a 37-23 advantage on the boards.
Kentucky has won 17 of its 20 matchups against Depaul.
