Kansas hosts Tennessee St.

LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) - Kansas concludes its four-game homestand Tuesday against Tennessee State.

The contest is part of the round-robin Las Vegas Invitational Tournament. The 12th-ranked Jayhawks (2-1) will travel to Las Vegas this weekend to meet Ball State and No. 1 Florida to complete the tournament.

Kansas rebounded from its upset loss to Oral Roberts with an 87-61 victory over Towson on Sunday.

Freshman center Darrell Arthur led the Jayhawks with 26 points while Mario Chalmers added 15. Kansas shot a scorching 56 percent (32-of-57) from the field but only made 6-of-18 3-pointers.

Tennessee State lost its season opener, 87-69, to Western Kentucky on Sunday.

Clarence Matthews scored 18 points to lead the Tigers, who struggled from the floor, shooting just 39 percent (25-of-64).
