Noah, Horford lead Gators to decisive win

Nov 22, 2006 - 2:48 AM GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Joakim Noah and Al Horford were not looking ahead to Las Vegas.

Noah scored 19 points and Horford added 13 points and 11 rebounds as top-ranked Florida posted an easy 94-33 victory over Prairie View in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Florida (5-0) now travels to Las Vegas, where it will play Western Kentucky on Friday and No. 10 Kansas on Saturday.

Prairie View (1-3) stayed close in the opening minutes of the first half and took a 15-13 lead on Johnny Cobb's layup with just under 14 minutes to go. The Gators responded with a 32-4 run led by Horford's 13 points to forge a 45-19 halftime lead.

Florida continued to pull away in the second half as Noah netted 13 points during a 26-6 spurt for a 73-25 advantage with 9:47 to play.

Freshman Marreese Speights scored 13 points and Corey Brewer added 12 for the Gators, who shot 61 percent (37-of-60) from the field.

Ivory McGilvery scored nine points to lead Prairie View, which shot just 23 percent (12-of-52) from the floor and 3-of-20 (15 percent) from 3-point range.

Florida dominated the boards, holding a 44-23 edge over Prairie View, which did not start a player taller than 6-9.
