Xavier’s full schedule is out!

I’m utterly tired of this summer. The Queen passing, God save the King, kind of capped off the annual crap fest that is the interminable six weeks of August. Let’s get late September, some college football, and some apple cider going, shall we?

To that end, Xavier gave us all some reason for hope today. Xavier’s entire basketball schedule has been released. All 31 games are going to be on national television, every conference game (save three on CBS) will be on a Fox station and the Big East conference tournament will be on Fox as well.

Xavier’s entire 31-game regular season schedule and the BIG EAST Tournament are slated for national television, including three on FOX National, 18 on FS1, two on FS2, four on the ESPN networks, one on CBS National, two on CBS Sports Network and the regular season finale on a FOX network to be announced.

That’s per the school. Remember back to the days when listening to Byron and Joe wasn’t a privilege, but a requirement? No more. Adam Kunkel’s braids and the mystery tattoo on his leg will be there in glorious HD.

Xavier’s 18-game home schedule begins with an exhibition game against Kentucky Wesleyan on Monday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. and Opening Night vs. Morgan State on Monday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. XU hosts Indiana as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games on Friday, Nov. 18, and West Virginia as part of the BIG EAST-Big 12 Challenge on Saturday, Dec. 3, in addition to the rugged 10-game BIG EAST home slate. XU renews the rivalry with Cincinnati for the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout on Dec. 10 at UC.

Tom Eiser has highlighted those games, so get your sick slips in now if you work weekends and want to see the Shootout. (That is mostly a note to self.) The Phil Knight tournament will take place over the Thanksgiving break and is certainly worth a mention, as is the New Year’s Eve game against UConn.

Summer is still toiling away out there, but the harbingers of better things arriving. Winter is coming, and that’s a good thing.
