The 14th-ranked Orange try to avenge a loss to the 49ers from two years ago when the teams meet Wednesday.
The Orange won the national championship in 2003, but in their first game the following season, they absorbed a 96-92 defeat to Charlotte as Brendan Plavich set a Carrier Dome record with 10 3-pointers.

Freshman Paul Harris added 16 points and 12 rebounds and Demetris Nichols chipped in 15 points for the Orange, who made 10-of-21 3-pointers and held a 41-20 rebounding advantage.
Charlotte is coming off an ugly 90-72 defeat to North Texas on November 12 despite 25 points from De'Angelo Alexander and 13 from Leemire Goldwire.
