Purdue takes on Eastern Michigan in NIT Tip-Off

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana (Ticker) -- Purdue picked up right where it left off in a blowout win over Detroit in its season opener.

The 10th-ranked Boilermakers look to keep it going in Monday's first-round matchup of the NIT Season Tip-Off against Eastern Michigan.

Preseason Big Ten Player of the Year Robbie Hummel had 14 points and nine rebounds and E'Twaun Moore led the Boilermakers with 18 points in Friday's 82-50 triumph over Detroit.

Purdue, which was the preseason pick to win the Big Ten, committed only three turnovers, forced 20 and registered assists on 21 of its 28 field goals.

The Eagles will be without point guard Carlos Medlock, who had surgery on his broken right foot on November 4. The injury will keep the senior out for the entire season.

EMU opened its season with a 119-48 win over Marygrove College behind Brandon Bowdry's 26 points and 14 rebounds.
