Duke tries to remain unbeaten in ACC-Big Ten Challenge

Nov 28, 2006 - 2:29 PM Indiana (3-1) at No. 10 Duke (5-1) 9:00 pm EST

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) - The ACC-Big Ten Challenge always seems to bring a smile to Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski's face.

Krzyzwewski looks to guide the 10th-ranked Blue Devils to their eighth victory in as many games in the Challenge on Tuesday when they face Indiana at Cameron Indoor Stadium for the first time.

Despite some difficult showdowns in past battles against Big Ten foes, Duke has won the previous seven encounters, including a 75-67 triumph at Indiana last year.

The Blue Devils rebounded from last Tuesday's defeat to Marquette with Saturday's 75-47 victory over Davidson. Josh McRoberts and Jon Scheyer scored 14 points apiece and Brian Zoubek added 12.

A winner of three NCAA titles, Krzyzewski has 758 career victories and is one away from tying Ed Diddle for 10th place all-time.

Kelvin Sampson has won three of his first four games as coach of Indiana, including back-to-back wins over Indiana State and Chicago State. However, he lost his only previous meeting against Duke.

D.J. White scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Lance Stemler and Roderick Wilmont added 15 each for the Hoosiers in a 90-69 win over Chicago State on November 19.

Indiana is looking to defeat Duke for the fourth time in seven games and raise its record in the Challenge to 3-3.
