Landry, Wisconsin eye second straight win
Nov 18, 2008 - 3:08 PM SIU Edwardsville (1-2) at No. 22 Wisconsin (1-0), 8:30 p.m. ESTMADISON, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- Wisconsin looks to go 2-0 when it hosts SIU Edwardsville on Tuesday.
Marcus Landry scored a career-high 23 points as the 22nd-ranked Badgers won their season opener, 68-61, over Long Beach State on Sunday.
A senior, Landry made a 3-pointer with 30 seconds remaining to give Wisconsin a 65-61 lead and then had a block on the ensuing possession to help preserve the victory.
SIU Edwardsville is coming off its first victory over a Division I school after it posted an 83-72 victory over Western Michigan on Sunday.
Aamir McCleary scored 21 points to lead the Cougars, who previously played at a Division II level.
Wisconsin is 53-4 against non-conference opponents at home under coach Bo Ryan.
