Gonzaga hosts Idaho before long road trip

Nov 18, 2008 - 3:18 PM Idaho (1-1) at No. 11 Gonzaga (1-0), 9:00 p.m. EST

SPOKANE, Washington (Ticker) -- Gonzaga fans should get a long look at their team because it will be a while until they see them again.

Before hitting the road for the next month, No. 11 Gonzaga hosts Idaho on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs play in the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, Florida next week and then play three straight road games against Indiana, Washington State and Arizona, respectively. They do not return home until a December 18 contest against Texas Southern.

Gonzaga won its opener on Saturday, posting an 83-52 victory over Division II foe Montana State-Billings.

Austin Daye had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Josh Heytvelt added 15 and eight for the Bulldogs, who have won eight straight meetings with the Vandals. Gonzaga defeated Idaho, 80-43, last season.

The Vandals were no match for seventh-ranked Michigan State on Sunday, dropping a 100-62 decision. Idaho was down by 25 points at the half.

Junior guard Mac Hopson leads the team in scoring at 16 points per game.
