Seton Hall aiming for finals in Puerto Rico

Nov 21, 2008 - 2:56 PM No. 12 Memphis (3-0) vs. Seton Hall (3-0) 7:00 p.m. EST

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Ticker) - Seton Hall aims for a second straight upset on Friday when it meets 12th-ranked Memphis in the semifinals of the Puerto Rico Tip-off Classic.

Jeremy Hazell scored 15 points as Seton Hall rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to claim a 63-61 victory against No. 20 Southern California on Thursday. The sophomore guard, Hazell shot 6-of-16 from the floor and drilled a 3-pointer that made it 62-59 with 1:30 to play.

Southern California's Daniel Hackett airballed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer as the Pirates remained undefeated this season.

Hazell is averaging a team-high 22 points per game and will need to continue his strong play if Seton Hall wants to down Memphis, which had little trouble against Chattanooga, 83-71, during its opening contest at this tournament on Thursday.

Doneal Mack scored 19 points, knocking down five 3-pointers as the Tigers earned their third double-digit win of the new campaign.

While Mack provided an outside scoring threat, forwards Robert Dozier and Shawn Taggart helped Memphis control the paint.

Dozier poured in 18 points with eight rebounds, five assists and two blocks, while Taggart finished with 14 points and eight boards.
