Pittsburgh eyes fourth straight win
Nov 22, 2008 - 11:15 AM Indiana, PA (2-0) at No. 6 Pittsburgh (3-0), 4:00 p.m. ESTPITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh is off to another fast start.
The sixth-ranked Panthers go for their fourth straight win when they host Indiana, Pennsylvania on Saturday as part of the Legends Classic.
Sam Young scored a season-high 26 points and Levance Fields had 19 and seven assists as Pittsburgh defeated Akron, 86-67, on Friday.
The win improved the Panthers to 27-0 under coach Jamie Dixon in the month of November. Pittsburgh has begun 10-0 in each of the past five seasons.
Continuing their early success should not be difficult against the Crimson Hawks, who are facing their first Division I school since they played Duquesne during the 1991-92 campaign.
Darryl Webb had 18 points and 16 rebounds as Indiana, Pennsylvania defeated Penn State Fayette, 109-46, on Wednesday.
Pittsburgh is 99-10 all-time at the Petersen Events Center, including 59-1 against non-conference opponents.
