Nov 27, 2008 - 9:56 AM No. 24 Wake Forest (3-0) at CS Fullerton (2-2) 4:30 p.m. EST

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Wake Forest will take the court outside the state of North Carolina for the first time when it faces Cal State-Fullerton in the 76 Classic on Thursday.

The 25th-ranked Demon Deacons cruised to three straight wins against in-state opponents by an average of 36.3 points to open the season.

After posting 94 and 120 points in its first two victories, Wake Forest used a suffocating defensive effort to double up Winston-Salem, 62-31, on Monday.

The Rams shot 28 percent (13-of-46) from the field while committing 20 turnovers. The Demon Deacons turned the ball over 23 times, but dominted the boards, 40-17, and shot 52 percent (22-42).

Jeff Teague was the only Wake Forest player to score in double figures with 14 points and added six assists.

CSF is coming off a heartbreaking defeat, 76-75, to Portland State on Sunday. The Titans' last-ditch effort came up short as Josh Akognon's jumper was blocked and Gerard Anderson missed a bank shot as time expired.

Josh Akognon had a team-high 20 points while Anderson scored 18 and added 10 rebounds.

The winner will face either Saint Mary's or Texas-El Paso in a semifinal on Friday.
