Wake Forest takes on Baylor for 76 Classic title

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Baylor hopes to make another case for why it should be ranked in the top-25 when it takes on No. 24 Wake Forest in the 76 Classic tournament championship on Sunday.

The Bears defeated Providence in the first round and then posted an 87-78 triumph over 14th-ranked Arizona State on Friday. The Bears made 11-of-24 shots from the arc in the win.

Baylor is averaging 86.3 per contest with five players scoring in double figures.

LaceDarius Dunn is scoring 18.0 points off the bench, while Curtis Jerrells is averaging 16.8 and 6.3 assists for Baylor, which has won its first six games for the first time since it began 12-0 in 2000.

The Demon Deacons advanced to the finals with a first-round win over Cal State Fullerton and an 82-79 semifinal victory over Texas El-Paso on Friday.

Wake Forest, which is averaging 86.6 points per contest, has four players averaging in double figures.

Jeff Teague has topped the 20-point mark in each contest during the tournament and had 29 in the win over UTEP.
