ACC/Big Ten Challenge begins as Wisconsin visits Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Virginia (Ticker) -- Virginia Tech hopes to continue its conference's dominance in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge when it hosts No. 22 Wisconsin on Monday.

The Atlantic Coast Conference has won all nine season series and is 56-30 against the Big Ten since the event started in 1999. The ACC went 8-3 last season.

Virginia Tech, which is 3-0 at home, will try and continue that trend. The Hokies are coming off a 76-67 victory over Elon on Wednesday.

Jeff Allen is averaging 16.8 points and 10.5 rebounds this season to lead Virginia Tech. A.D. Vassallo and Malcolm Delaney are scoring 16.7 and 16.3 per contest, respectively.

The Badgers bounced back from their first loss of the season against No. 2 Connecticut to beat Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 67-46, on Saturday.

Trevon Hughes scored 16 points in the win and is averaging 14.2 per game this season for Wisconsin, which is 3-6 in the event.

This is the first meeting between the schools.
