Pittsburgh looks to improve to 26-0 all-time vs. Robert Morris
Nov 29, 2006 - 3:12 PM Robert Morris (4-0) at No. 3 Pittsburgh (6-0) 7:30 pm ESTPITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh puts an assortment of winning streaks on the line Wednesday when it hosts intra-city rival Robert Morris.
The third-ranked Panthers are looking to start 7-0 for the fifth straight season. They also have won 17 consecutive non-conference games and are a perfect 63-0 all-time against the Northeast Conference, including 25-0 against the Colonials.
Pitt improved to 69-6 all-time at the Petersen Events Center on Friday with an 88-66 triumph against Florida State. Antonio Graves scored 17 points and Mike Cook had 15 points and nine assists for the Panthers, who shot a blistering 62 percent (35-of-56) and had 28 assists against only 12 turnovers.
Pittsburgh has won its four meetings vs. Robert Morris at the Petersen Events Center by an average of 25.3 points. But the Colonials do enter Wednesday's matchup with some momentum.
Robert Morris has posted three of its four wins by double-digits, including a 55-43 triumph against Maine on Sunday. A.J. Jackson collected 21 points and 12 rebounds and Tony Lee added 12 points for the Colonials, who won despite shooting under 40 percent (21-of-53) and committing 23 turnovers.
