Georgetown gets final warmup before meeting Duke
Nov 29, 2006 - 3:23 PM Oregon (5-0) at No. 23 Georgetown (4-1) 7:30 pm ESTWASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Before a showdown with Duke, Georgetown has some business to take care of.
The 23rd-ranked Hoyas meet Oregon for the first time ever Wednesday. Georgetown visits Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
Jeff Green scored 14 points and DaJuan Summers added 12 as the Hoyas posted a 69-54 victory over Ball State on Monday. Freshman Vernon Macklin had 10 points for Georgetown, which shot 52 percent (25-of-48) from the field.
Oregon rallied to remain unbeaten with a 79-73 overtime victory over Rice on November 20. The Ducks erased a 65-57 deficit with 56 seconds left to force the extra session. They scored the first seven points of the overtime to take control of the game.
Aaron Brooks collected 30 points, seven assists and six rebounds and freshman Tajuan Porter and Maarty Leunen both finished with 15 points for Oregon, which forced 23 turnovers.
Oregon is trying to go 6-0 for the first time since the 2002-03 season.
