Syracuse aims to continue dominance of Cornell

SYRACUSE, New York (Ticker) -- Syracuse looks to remain unbeaten and continue its dominance over Cornell when the teams meet Wednesday.

The 20th-ranked Orange have won 30 consecutive contests against the Big Red, including an 80-64 triumph last season.

Syracuse has won its first five home games this season and is coming off an 86-51 victory over Colgate on Monday. It was the fifth time the Orange have topped the 80-point plateau.

Jonny Flynn leads the high-scoring attack, averaging 18.9 points and 5.3 assists per contest.

Cornell had its two-game winning streak snapped with a 72-57 setback to Indiana on Sunday.

Ryan Wittman scored 28 points in the loss and leads the team in scoring at 21 per contest.

Syracuse has not opened a season 8-0 since it won the first nine contests to open the 2001-02 campaign.
