Nevada tries to gain series edge vs. Louisiana Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (Ticker) - No. 20 Nevada visits Louisiana Lafayette on Wednesday with the lead of the brief series on the line.

In their first meeting in 23 years, the Wolf Pack captured a 65-58 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns last season, making the all-time series between the two programs even at two apiece.

Nevada extended its regular-season road winning streak to seven following a 78-70 triumph at Santa Clara on Saturday. Nick Fazekas collected 28 points and 15 rebounds and Ramon Sessions added 16 and six for the Wolf Pack, who won the rebounding battle, 38-25.

Meanwhile, Louisiana Lafayette endured its fourth straight loss, a 77-67 setback to Tennessee on Monday. Ross Mouton scored 22 points and David Dees added 18, but committed seven turnovers for the Ragin' Cajuns, who shot 50 percent (26-of-52) overall.

The Wolf Pack are 15-7 all-time against current members of the Sun Belt Conference.
