Wake Forest hopes to continue fast start

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Off to its best start in five years, 17th-ranked Wake Forest looks to continue rolling when it hosts Bucknell on Saturday.

The Demon Deacons have won their first seven contests for the first time since they went 11-0 to begin the 2003-04 campaign.

Wake Forest, which has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2005, is coming off an 83-58 victory over Indiana on Wednesday. James Johnson scored 21 points and L.D. Williams netted 16 in the win.

Jeff Teague leads a balanced attack at 19.9 points per contest. The Demon Deacons have topped the 80-point plateau in three straight games and are averaging 86.1.

While Wake Forest is off to its best start in five years, Bucknell is 1-5 for the first time since the 2003-04 season. The Bison lost, 68-65 at La Salle on Tuesday.

Justin Castleberry leads Bucknell in scoring at 14.8 points per game.
