Louisville plays for third straight day, hosts Lamar

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Louisville will be looking for a third straight blowout win to conclude the Marques Maybin Classic Monday, and a repeat performance from Earl Clark will certainly help them out.

The 10th-ranked Cardinals look for that dominant victory when they face off against Lamar.

The junior guard recorded season-highs with 18 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists as Louisville routed Ohio, 91-56, on Sunday. The Cardinals beat Indiana State, 83-43, on Saturday in its opener of the three-day, round-robin event.

Clark sank 7-of-11 from the field as the Cardinals shot 52 percent (33-of-64) as a team, including 48 percent (11-of-23) from behind the arc.

Samardo Samuels scored 19 points and Jerry Smith added 16 for Louisville, which held a 44-25 advantage on the glass.

After defeating the Bobcats in its opening game at Freedom Hall, Lamar dropped a 68-66 contest to the Sycamores on Sunday.

Jay Brown scored 16 points and Kenny Dawson added 13 for Lamar, which opened the season with five straight wins before being routed by Kentucky, 103-61, on Wednesday.
