Purdue plays first road game

Dec 9, 2008 - 11:34 AM No. 17 Purdue (6-2) at Ball State (4-3), 7:00 p.m. EST

MUNCIE, Indiana (Ticker) -- Purdue will play its first road game of the season. Yet, it still doesn't have to leave its own state.

The 17th-ranked Boilermakers visit Ball State on Tuesday.

Purdue has played a pair of contests at neutral courts in Madison Square Garden but has yet to play a true road game this season.

The Boilermakers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 90-42 triumph over winless Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday. JaJuan Johnson scored a career-high 20 points in the win.

E'Twaun Moore is scoring 15.6 points and Robbie Hummel is averaging 14.3 and 6.4 rebounds to lead the Boilermakers.

Ball State has lost two of its past three games, including a 73-63 setback at Evansville on Saturday.

Senior Anthony Newell has registered five double-doubles this season and is averaging 15.3 points and 10.4 rebounds to lead the Cardinals.

The matchup is Purdue's only road game until it visits Penn State on January 6.
