Curry, Davidson take on West Virginia

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Stephen Curry will take his game to Madison Square Garden when he leads 22nd-ranked Davidson against West Virginia as a part of the Jimmy V Classic on Tuesday.

The junior sharpshooter bounced back from the first scoreless game of his career to match a career best with 44 points in Davidson's 72-67 victory over North Carolina State on Saturday.

In spite of the scoreless game, Curry still leads the nation in scoring at 31.3 points per game. He also is averaging 6.4 assists.

Davidson will be going for its fifth straight win when it takes on West Virginia, which is allowing 55.1 points per contest.

The Mountaineers' hard-nosed defense was a key in Saturday's 53-43 victory over Cleveland State. The Vikings shot 33 percent (17-of-51) from the field.

Da'Sean Butler is averaging 14.6 points and 5.7 rebounds to lead West Virginia.
