McClinton, Miami host Florida International

CORAL GABLES, Florida (Ticker) -- Miami seeks its sixth straight victory against Florida International when it hosts its intra-state rivals on Friday.

The 25th-ranked Hurricanes have defeated the Golden Panthers each of the past two years, including a 67-53 triumph last season. They are 11-1 against Florida International in the all-time series.

Miami bounced back from its first home loss to defeat Kentucky, 73-67, on Saturday.

Jack McClinton, who was ejected for taking a swipe at an Ohio State player in the loss on December 2, scored 23 points to lead the Hurricanes. The senior is averaging 16.3 points.

Florida International is coming off a 70-56 setback at Buffalo on Saturday, its fourth loss in five games.

Nikola Gacessa is the only Golden Panthers player averaging in double figures at 12.2 points per game.
