Harangody, Notre Dame look to bounce back

Dec 13, 2008 - 11:30 AM Boston University (5-3) at No. 13 Notre Dame (6-3), 7:00 pm EST

SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Ticker) -- Luke Harangody's return to the lineup was spoiled in Notre Dame's latest loss. The star junior has a chance to take out his frustrations on an overmatched American East squad.

The 13th-ranked Fighting Irish hope to bounce back from their second loss when they host Boston University on Saturday.

Harangody returned to Notre Dame after missing two games due to illness, but his 25-point, 16-rebound effort was not enough to lift the Irish in their 67-62 loss to Ohio State last Saturday.

Last season's Big East Player of the Year is averaging 23 points and 12 rebounds per game, while converting on 50 percent of his shots.

Fellow Irish star Kyle McAlarney, who averaged 32.7 points over the previous three games, was 1-of-6 from the field and had two points against the Buckeyes.

Notre Dame had won two in a row after being toppled, 102-87, by top-ranked North Carolina on November 26.

The Terriers are coming off a 55-43 victory over Yale on Wednesday, four days after falling to Marshall, 84-80.

Junior guard Corey Lowe leads Boston with 19.3 points per game. Guard John Holland is averaging 16.5, while forward Jake O'Brien has a 12.6 mark.
