Clemson looks to remain perfect

Dec 16, 2008 - 2:16 PM North Florida (0-7) at No. 25 Clemson (10-0), 7:00 p.m. EST

CLEMSON, South Carolina (Ticker) -- In the coaches' poll for the first time this season, No. 25 Clemson attempts to remain unbeaten when it hosts winless North Florida on Tuesday.

Fast starts are nothing new to the Tigers, who are 10-0 for the third straight season. The club began 17-0 during the 2006-07 campaign.

Clemson is coming off a 90-63 victory over South Carolina State on Saturday, marking the third time this season that it has scored at least 90 points.

Trevor Booker is averaging 15 points and 8.9 rebounds to lead the Tigers and K.C. Rivers is averaging 14.2 points.

The Ospreys of the Atlantic Sun Conference have dropped their seven games by an average of 23 points. North Florida dropped to 0-2 in its conference with an 89-55 setback to Belmont on December 6.

Cortez Riley is the only player averaging double figures for North Florida at 13.9 points per game.

The schedule will get a little tougher for the Tigers on Sunday when they visit Miami in their Atlantic Coast Conference opener.
