Memphis hope to bounce back at home

Dec 17, 2008 - 11:15 AM Arkansas-Little Rock (7-2) at No. 21 Memphis (5-2), 8:00 p.m. EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- It took only seven games for Memphis to lose as many contests as it did all of last season.

The 21st-ranked Tigers look to rebound when they host Arkansas-Little Rock on Wednesday.

Last season's national runner-up, Memphis set the NCAA record for the most wins in a single season with a 38-2 record. The Tigers lost their second game to Kansas on April 7 in the title game.

Memphis suffered its second loss this season on Saturday at the hands of then-No. 19 Georgetown, 79-70, in overtime. Shawn Taggert had 23 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

Freshman Tyreke Evans leads the Tigers attack at 16.7 points per game. He had 20 against Georgetown but shot 8-of-24 from the field.

The Trojans are coming off a 97-85 victory over Northern Illinois on Sunday.

Steven Moore had 22 points and eight assists in the win and leads Arkansas-Little Rock in scoring at 15.3 per contest.
