Syracuse hopes to match road success at home

Dec 22, 2008 - 7:20 PM Coppin State (1-7) at No. 14 Syracuse (11-1), 7:00 p.m. EST

SYRACUSE, New York (Ticker) -- Syracuse has gotten its biggest wins of the season on the road. Now it's hoping to avoid a letdown at home.

The 14th-ranked Orange go for their third straight win when they host Coppin State on Monday.

Syracuse is coming off a 72-65 victory at then-No. 21 Memphis on Saturday, its third win against a ranked team away from home. The Orange also beat Florida and Kansas in games on a neutral court.

With junior guard Eric Devendorf suspended due to an off-campus incident with a female student, Jonny Flynn scored 24 points to lead Syracuse in the win. Flynn leads the team at 18.1 points and 4.9 assists per contest.

Since winning its season opener, Coppin State has dropped seven straight games - all on the road. The Eagles were defeated at Wisconsin, 57-46, on Saturday.

Senior guard Tywain McKee is averaging 19.3 points to lead Coppin State.
